Proposals by Community
Scientists, Scholars, Amateurs
Science observations for POLIX and XSPECT instruments onboard XPoSat are driven by community. Any registered user can propose observations. Observation opportunities are announced in advance as Cycles. Last minute requirements are also accepted as Target of Opportunity (ToO) proposals.
Review by Experts
Members of Astronomy Science Community
Proposals are reviewed by designated committee and other members from ISRO, payload teams & partner agencies and science community. Proposals are evaluated based on criteria like completeness, science value and technical feasibility. ToO proposals are evaluated as and when available. Committee also finalizes plan for observation of accepted proposals.
Operations by ISRO
Mission & Operations team, ISSDC
Observations are carried out by instruments based on plan finalized by committee. Engineering teams at ISRO and Payload operations Centers (POCs) ensure seamless automation for command generation and uplink for observations.
